Neon is a serverless database management platform built on PostgreSQL. It is a globally recognized brand in the developer tools space, serving a wide range of tech-driven clients who rely on fast, scalable, cloud-native database solutions. Neon was looking to expand its customer base through digital advertising. Their goal was not just brand awareness, but real conversions from a highly relevant audience, specifically PostgreSQL developers.

They had previously tried multiple ad networks and influencer marketing, but results were either slow or not profitable. They also had very specific needs: their ads needed to appear on PostgreSQL tutorial websites and blend in naturally with the site’s content, avoiding any appearance of being disruptive or forced.

Our Solution

When Neon partnered with Increase Rev, we focused on creating an ad experience that would match both their goals and the expectations of the site’s audience.

We recommended placing a sponsored link at the top of the PostgreSQL tutorial website, a high-visibility spot that typically gets close to 100% viewability. This placement felt organic and integrated smoothly with the site layout, which helped build trust and increase user interaction.

We also created multiple versions of the ad copy, each with strong calls to action (CTAs) that guided users naturally to Neon’s landing page. Over the course of a week, we A/B tested multiple variations and kept the ad copy that worked best based on user engagement.

Results

Within the first month, ad performance improved by 100% compared to previous efforts, which resulted in a significant boost in both conversions and brand visibility. The campaign not only performed well, it showed how important it is to put ads in the right place with the right message.
